Motion: DuVivier - To continue the conceptual review to next
Community Advisory Board meeting on January 17, 1989 with the
suggestions made for Conceptual Review as follows:
1. Southwest Architectural, Santa Fe Brown homes with
thatched roofs, California Contemporary, varied colors
and not one color palette.
2. variation of elevations and design of homes to maintain
uniqueness of Olivenhain character.
3. Landscaping - use of native trees not Sycamore.
4. Variation in size of homes to avoid bulk and mass of a
large-scale development. Use some 3,000 ft. to 5,000
ft. homes.
5. Design homes to have long side of house parallel to
contours of lot.
6. Address more sculpting of pads and split level pads.
7. Stay within the 26' height limit for peaked roofs.
8 8. Submit detailed grading plans with topo shown on each
lot.
9. Build the house into the site.
10. Make homes different shapes not all square and 2 story.
11. Research the use of pads across property lines.
12. Use different concept in grading to show split level pads
with different elevations for houses than presented
today.
13. Try to avoid the feeling of mass on the facades of the
buildings.
14. Break the large house up into pieces using 1 story in
front of the 2 story facades.
