seating in conjunction with existing
eating and drinking establishment.
ENVIRONMENTAL
STATUS: Exempt under section 15301 of CEQA.
Motion: Board Member Peter Tobias - To approve 88-348 MIN/DR
with staff conditions and added conditions:
1. Return sign program on November 30, 1989 and receive
. community Advisory Board approval of sign program prior
to permit issuance.
2. Install planter area next to driveway on "E" street to
contain shrubs and one street tree with a minimum 24" box
size to be found satisfactory to staff prior to issuance.
3. Install two street trees along Highway 101 minimum 24"
box size within two years in accordance with the City's
street tree program. If no street tree is identified for
the Highway 101 corridor within two years, this condition
shall no longer be enforced.

7. COHHUNITY ADVISORY BOARD/PLANNER REPORTS

Informational Items - No action to be taken.
Tom Curriden discussed possible protection of 25% slopes with
staff and suggests that development potential should be
addressed on a case by case basis.
8. BUSINESS FROM THE COHHUNITY ADVISORY BOARD AND DISCUSSION OF
CHARACTERISTICS AND OBJECTIVES UNIQUE TO THE COHHUNITY.
Peter Tobias discusses letter from Anne Patton of New
Encinitas Community Advisory Board. The letter requests Old
Encinitas Community Advisory Board to discuss possible name
changes from "New Encinitas" to "East Encinitas" and "Old
Encinitas" to "West Encinitas". The Community Advisory Board
members prefer to retain the community name of "Old
Encinitas".

to the next regularly scheduled meeting of this Community
Advisory Board to be held November 16, 1989.
