outdoor storage of boats, RVs and autos
in conjunction with existing self storage
operation.
ENVIRONMENTAL
STATUS: Negative Declaration Pending
Motion: Board Member Peter Tobias - To approve 89-154
MIN/BA/EIA with staff recommendations in addition to the
following conditions:
1. The proposed chain link fencing around the perimeter of
the parking shall be not more than 1 ft. from said
. parking/storage area, with project landscaping located
outside of said fence.

. 2. A revised landscape plan to include the following shall
be submitted and found satisfactory by the Community
Development Department prior to permit issuance:
i. Substitution of a native groundcover for the
proposed "Red Apple" Artemia.
ii. Incorporation of a native species shrub as an
understory to the trees around the perimeter of the
parking/storage area.
3. Light standards shall be limited to two standards of a
maximum 12 ft. height and shall be of a low pressure
sodium type.

9. COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD/PLANNER REPORTS
. Informational Items - No action to be taken.
A. Adam Birnbaum discusses possible deed restrictions which
would prohibit future development on slopes 25% or
steeper. Peter Tobias asks staff to report back VERBALLY
on October 26.
B. Review of Design Guidelines. Mark steyaert and Adam
Birnbaum submit written recommendations. Peter Tobias
presents his recommendations orally. He recommends that
the City encourage more symbolic signs, public art,
pedestrian-oriented streetlights, and that the City not
create a tree lined median on Highway 101.
