The purpose of the survey shown on this map was to replace survey monuments
destroyed during the construction of four new homes built on the four parcels
created by Parcel Map No. 17859. The Engineer who prepared that map was
retained as Engineer of Work for the Grading Improvements constructed during
that project and provided construction layout staking for the Contractor, Johnny
Marotta Construction, Prior to the beginning of construction, the previously found
and set monuments shown on Parcel Map No. 17859 were tied out. After
construction was completed, new monuments were set at the original locations,
or at new offset locations as shown. Lead and Discs were set in place of the
original 3/4" iron pipe monuments where the locations fell in concrete or masonry
surfaces. That same Engineer has now prepared this map at the request of
the Contractor to document the specific details of remonumenting PM 17859.
