. MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF CARDIFF SANITATION DISTRICT BOARD
OF DIRECTORS, JANUARY 13, 1988, 4:00 P.M., 535 ENCINITAS
BOULEVARD, SUITE 100, ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA.
Board Chairman Steel called the meeting to order at 5:30 P.M.
Present: Board Chairman Gerald steel, Board Members Marjorie
Gaines, Greg Luke, Anne Omsted, Richard Shea.
Absent: None
Also District Manager Shafer, District Counsel Roger Krauel,
Present: Public Works Director August, Board Clerk Pool, Senior
Office Specialist Hollywood.
There being a quorum present, the meeting was in order.

3. CLOSING AND ADOPTION OF CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Approval of Minutes: Reaular Meetina. 12/09/87.
. B. Adoption of Resolution 87-40. Annexina 0.55 acres. located
bet~een Rossini Drive and Bristol Avenue. Georae Smith.
Shea moved, Omsted seconded to close and adopt the consent
calendar. Motion carried. Ayes: Gaines, Luke, omsted, Shea,
and Steel. Nays: None.
4. ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
A. Status Report: Capacity Letters and Waste Discharae Permits
Issued and Remainina - November 1987.
Board received status report. Public Works Director August
stated it was anticipated that in February, 1988 Murk Engineers
would be preparing a more extensive status report in response to
previous requests from the Board for additional data and more
accurate figures.
RECESS
Omsted moved, Luke seconded to recess into Closed session.
Motion carried. Ayes: Gaines, Luke, omsted, Shea, and Steel.
Nays: None.
. Board recessed at 5:35 P.M. into Closed Session Under Government
Code Sec. 54956.9(a), to discuss Atkinson v. Cardiff Sanitation
District.

. Board Chairman steel reconvened the meeting at 5:50 P.M.
B. çonsideration of Retention of special Counsel.
Gaines moved, omsted seconded to retain county counsel in the
matter of Atkinson v. Cardiff sanitation District and direct
District Manager to sign the appropriate documents. Motion
carried. Ayes: Gaines, Luke, omsted, Shea, and steel. Nays:
None.
omsted moved, Gaines seconded to Direct District counsel to
contact the attorney and have him report back to the Board.
Motion carried. Ayes: Gaines, Luke, omsted, Shea, and steel.
Nays: None.
5. ADJOURNMENT
Chairman steel declared the meeting adjourned at 5:52 P.M.
