A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS
DESIGNATING MAYOR GASPAR AS THE CITY'S VOTING DELEGATE AND CITY
MANAGER BRUST AS THE CITY'S VOTING DELEGATE-ALTERNATE AT
THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES ANNUAL CONFERENCE
TO BE HELD OCTOBER 5-7, 2016
WHEREAS, in December of each year, City Council Members make appointments to
various regional agencies and organizations to represent the City of Encinitas and, in December
2015 appointed Mayor Gaspar as the City's representative and Deputy Mayor Shaffer as the
alternate representative on the League of California Cities Region 10 Executive Committee;
and
WHEREAS, Mayor Gaspar and City Manager Brust will be attending the League of
California Cities Annual Conference scheduled for October 5-7, 2016, in Long Beach,
California; and
WHEREAS, consistent with League bylaws, a city's voting delegate and voting
delegate-alternate must be designated by the City Council by resolution that reflects the council
action taken and cannot be accomplished by individual action of the Mayor or City Manager
alone.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Encinitas that
Mayor Gaspar is hereby authorized to act as the City of Encinitas voting delegate and City
Manager Brust is hereby authorized to act as the City of Encinitas voting delegate-alternate on
the various resolutions the League will consider at their annual business meeting to be
conducted during the LCC Annual Conference to be held October 5-7, 2016 in Long Beach,
California.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of August 2016, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Blakespear, Gaspar, Kranz, Muir, Shaffer.
NAYS: None,
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
