A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS
DESIGNATING TERESA BARTH AS THE CITY'S VOTING DELEGATE TO
THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES CONFERENCE
ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING, SEPTEMBER 2011
WHEREAS, in December of each year, City Council members make
appointments to various regional agencies and organizations to represent the City of
Encinitas; and
WHEREAS, it is the practice of the Encinitas City Council to appoint the
Mayor as voting delegate at the League of California Cities annual business meeting
and if the Mayor is unable to attend, the Deputy Mayor would be the alternate
voting delegate representing Encinitas; and
WHEREAS, both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor are unavailable to attend
the conference scheduled for September 21st through 23rd, to be held in San
Francisco; and
WHEREAS, consistent with League bylaws, a city's voting delegate must be
designated by the city council by resolution that reflects the council action taken and
cannot be accomplished by individual action of the mayor or city manager alone.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of
Encinitas that Encinitas Council Member, Teresa Barth, is hereby authorized to act
as the City of Encinitas voting delegate on the various resolutions the League will
consider at their annual business meeting, September 21st through 23rd.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of July, 2011, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Barth, Bond, Gaspar, Houlihan, Stocks.
NAYS: None.
ABSENT: None.
ABSTAIN: None.
