A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS
APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT OF AN
AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA
FOR STATE AND FEDERAL SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROJECTS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Encinitas will apply for grant
funding from the State of California Department of Transportation through the State and
Federal Safe Routes to School Programs to construct pedestrian facilities and traffic
calming projects adjacent to schools within the City of Encinitas; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Transportation has selected the
project for State or Federal grant funding; and
WHEREAS, the State of California Department of Transportation requires the
City of Encinitas to appoint an authorized representative to enter into agreement with
the State;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Encinitas:
1. That the Director of Engineering Services is hereby authorized and
directed to submit, for and on behalf of the City of Encinitas, applications for
State and Federal Safe Routes to School Programs; and
2. That the City of Encinitas hereby agrees and further does authorize the
aforementioned representative or his designee to certify that the Agency has and
will comply with all applicable state and federal statutory and regulatory
requirements related to any grants received, and
3. That the Director of Engineering Services or his designee of the City of
Encinitas is hereby authorized to execute the Master and Supplemental
Grant Agreements and any future amendments for such projects on behalf
of the City of Encinitas.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 14'' day of July, 2010, by the following vote to wit:
AYES: Barth, Bond, Dalager, Houlihan, Stocks.
NAYS: None.
