omissions or corrections, same were thereupon declared approved.

Upon motion made by Dire ctor Franklin, seconded -by Director
Bucklew, it was unanimously ordexed by.the affirmative vote of

. Preeident McChesney now re turned, took the ch air, and presided
; at the balance of the meeting.
; The Secretary*presented to the Board for thtir inspection,
the following reports - Secretary's Monthly Report, and
' Treasurer's Monthly Report.
Upon motion made by Director Files, seconded by Director
Franklin, it wae unanimously ordered by the affirmative vote
of all directors present, that said reports be approved and
ordered filed. .

The Secretary presented a report comparing costs over a period
of years fon the purpose of assisting the Board to arrive at an
estimate of future eosts and_ maintenance. After a careful
study and discussion of the matter, Director Files moved that
a Committee be appointed to study the question of water tolls. . Director Knipe seconded the motion, and it was unanimously
carried by the affirmative vote of all directors present. Arhere-
upon, President McCheeney appointed the following committee;

A letter was pre sented from the Union Title and Insurance
Company, requesting a Quit Claim Deed from this d.iatrict to
the.Easterly 20 feet of Lot 5, in Block 9 of Encinitas, in
favor of the State of California, and offering to pay the
sum of $35.00 therefor. Upon motion made by Director Files, deconded by Director
ICnipe, and unanimously approved by the affirmative vote
of a11 directors present, it was ordered that said offer
be accepted.
A letter was pre sented to the Board from the Bank of Amer'ica,
Oceanside, requesting the placing in escrow of a quit cl aim
deed and redemption certificates, covering certain properties
belonging to y9.H.Schaaf, now being repurchased by Mr. Schaaf
from this District und.er an agreement of sale executed
November 21, 1936; *11th the understanding that this District .
is to receive the sum of $552•52 in p'ayment for said quit claim deed, before same is delivered.
Upon motion made by Dire etor Files, eeconded by Director Bucklew,
it was unanimously ordered, by the affirmative vote of all d.irectors
present, that said quit claim be issued, with reservation stated
above, and that issuance of said quit claim deed be authorized in
resolution authorizing theissuance of quit claim deeds for sale
of tax deed lands.
Upon motion made by Director Files, the following resolution
was introduced and its adoption moved. Dir ector Franklin
seconded the motion, whereupon said resolution was unani-
moubly passed and adopted by the affirmative vote of all
directors present, to-wit:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
SAN DIEGUITO IRRIGATION DIS?'RICT RELATING
TO CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN OF THE DISTRICT'S
. LANDS ACQUIRED THROUGH TAX PROCEEDINGS.
• VPHEREAS, the San Dieguito Irrigation Dietrict, has hereto-
fore taken tax deeds to the lands and premises hereinafter
described; and
WHEREAS, said 1 ands and. premises are not necessary for the
use of said District 'in connection vrith the administrative and
operating:business -:of-',sa.-id~ d~istrict;'. and. are'no` longer neces-
sary to be retained for the uses and purposes of said District;
and
WHEREAS, the district hae been endeavoring to sell its
title to such premises so that the said lands and premises
could again be placed on the assessment rolls-and begin con-.
tributing, through the payment of the regular irrigation d-la-
trict assessments, to the maintenan ce of the district; and
V9HEREAS, offers to purchaee the hereinafter described
tracts have been received and the best offers received there-
for, for quit claim convey.ances of the title acquired by the
district through its tax deed, on the proceedings prelimi-
nary to such deeds are as set out in this resolution herein-
after; and
WHEREAS, it is the judgment of the b oard of directors of
San Dieguito Irrigation District that such offers a.re the
best that can be •had, and that ea.ch is an offer of an ade-
quate price and amount, and tha,t no better sa,le of such
. interest can be made at this time, and that it is*to the
best interests of the district to accept the same.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Boar d of Directors
of San Dieg~uito Irrigation District, that the district quit-
claim its interest in the premises hereinafter described,
so acquired by tax deed or deeds as aforesaid, to the pur-
chasers named in the following schedule, for the prices,
respectively therein set out, and that the President and
Secretary of this District be and they are hereby alithor-
i;ed to execute to such purchasers the proper quit-claim -
conveyances of the district's interest. The premises, lands, purchasers, and priees of the several
parcels affected by this resolution are as follows;

Bids which had been received for 411, 611 and 811 pipe, were pre-
sented to the Boaxd. Upon motion mad.e by Director Files, seconded
by Director Rnipe, and unanimously approved. by. the affirmative
vote of all directors present, it wae oxdered that only such
pipe be purch ased at this time as was necessary to comply with
constTUCtion ordered by the Board, and that this small amount be
purchased from the Southern Pipe & Casing Company of Azusa; this
company having placed the low bid for the cle,ss required, and was
well known to comply with specifications. .
Upon motion made by Director Files, seconded by Director Bucklew,
it was unanimously ordered by the affirmative vote of alI directors
present that Journal Vouche-rs Nos. 273, 274, 275, 276, 259 and 261,
be approved.
Upon motion made by Director Franklin, seconded by Director Rnipe,
the following resolution was introduced, its adoption moved., and
was thereupon paesed an d adopted by the unanimous vote of all
. directors present, to-wit:
RESOLUTION OF ThE BOARD OF DIRFCTORS OF

TO CONVEYANCE OF CERTAIN OF THE'DISTRICT'S '
LANDS ACQUIRED THROUGH TAX PROCFEDINGS, S.
WHEREAS, the San Die-auito Irr.igation District, has heretofore
taken tax deeds to the lands and premises hereinafter described; and
WHEREAS, said lands and premises are not necessary for the use of
said Dietrict in connection with the. administrative and operating
business of said district; and are no longer necessary to be re-
tained for the uses and purposes of said District; and
WHEREAS, the district has been endeavoring to sell its title
' to such premiees so that the said land.s and premises could again
be placed on the assessment rolls and begin contributing, through
~ the payment of the regular irrigation d.istrict assessments, to the
. maintenance of the district; and
WHEREAS, offers to purchase the hereinafter described tracts
have b een received and the best offers rAceived therefor, for
quit claim conveyances of the title acquired by the district
through its-tax deed, on the proceedings preliminasy to such deeds
are as set out in this resolution hereinafter; and
WHEREAS, it is the judgment of the board of directors of San
Dieguito Irrigation Dietrict that such offers are the best that
can be had, and that each is an offer of an ad.equate price and
amount, and that no better sale of such interes.t can be made at

this time, and that it is to the best interest of the district
to accept the same, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RFSOLVED by the Board. of Directors of
San Die guito Irrigation District, that the District enter into
an agreement of sale with the ptzrchaser riamed. in the follow-
ing schedule, for the price therein aet out, payable as follows; Twllve and 97/100 ($I2.97) Dollars casY!, a.nd the bal.ance in
payments of Five Dollars or more each month until the entire
amount is paid in full, together with interest at the rate of
7% on all unpaid bal.ance; that so soon as the entire amount
is paid in full, th at the district execute and deliver a quit-
claim deed to its interest in the premises hereinafter de-
acribed, so acquired by tax deed or deeds as aforesaid, to
said purchaser, and that the President and Secreta.ry of this
District be and they are hereby authorized to e xecute to such
purchaser the proper Agreement of Sale and Quit Cl.aim con-
veyance of the dietxict's interest.

` Upon motion made by Director Files, seconded by Director
Fr anklin, the following resolution wae introduced, its
adoption moved, and was thereupon passed. and ad.oAted by
the unanimous affirmative vote of all directors present to-
trit:
R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
RESOLVED: THAT this District lease to Charles Leffing-
well a portion of East Block 2 of Encinitas, now held by this dietrict under Tax Deed, at
and for the price of Forty (40,00) Dollars
payable in advance, for a period of Six (6)
months from the 6th day of April 1937, to the
6th day of October, 1937; and that the President
and Secretary of the Board of Directors, be, an d
they are hereby authorized••-to execute and deliver
to said lessee a proper land lease according to the form heretofore approved by this Board.
Upon motion made by Director Bucklew, seconded by Director
Franklin, the followi.ng resolution was introduced, ita adoption
moved, and was thereupon una.nimously passed a.nd adonted by the
affirmative vote of all Dire ctors present, to-evit.

R E S 0 L U T I 0 N
RESOLVED: That this District purchase and install a ~
gasoline tank and pump for the purpose of
reducing costs. Tank and. pump not to ex-
ceed a cost of $100.00.
A letter was read from M: ~,A, Princehouse, agreeing to hold
the District blaxneless in case of damage to pipe line s on
Princehouse Acres through tests to determine the condition
of said lines; and the manager was instructed, informally
to proceed evith the tests.
The Secretary was instructed to write letters to various Senators requesting the reduction of interest on R.F.C.Loans.
The matter of renewal of surplus water contract to Frar.k
Foussett, was ordered held in abeyance until he had p aid
. all delinquent w ater bills in full.
Upon motion made by Director Files, seconded by Director
- Rnipe, the following resolution was introduced, its adoption
moved, and was thereupon unantmously passed and ado pted by
the affirmative vote of all dire ctors pr esent, to-wit:

RESOLVED: That the District construct 300 feet of 41'
pipe on Sanford Street, :..East. from Hygeia ,
Street.
The Secretary was informally instructed to take care of the
mattex of expenses of Directors and officers, in connection
with their attendance at the meeting of the Irrigation Districts
Officers Association meeting at Del Mar, April 8th, at a cost,
pro rata, of $6,18
Upon motion made by Director Files, second.ed by Director Rnipe,
it was unanimously ordered by the affirmative vote of all directors
present, that the meeting be adjourned until Friday, April 16th,
1937, at one-thirty-ciclock P.M.
