A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS
ESTABLISHING A CRIMEPREVENTION ACTION COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Encinitas Station of the San Diego County
Sheriff's Department shares the concern of the Encinitas city
Council and citizens about the crime rate, and
WHEREAS, civilian iDvolvement is essential in effective
crime prevention, and
WHEREAS, the California Office of Criminal Justice Planning
supports and provides information and training to crime
prevention groups, and
WHEREAS, the Encinitas Sheriff's Station did bring together
a group of citizens to participate in a cooperative crime
prevention effort in the City of Encinitas, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Encinitas'.
1. That the Crime Prevention Action Committee is hereby
formally established.
2. That the Committee shall be composed of those members
already serving, representing the following:
A. Law Enforcement Agencies - two members.
B. School Administration - one member.
C. School student - one member
D. Neighborhood Watch - one member.
E. Business Community - one member..
F. Municipal Government - one member.-f
G. Community Services Organization - one member.
and to be appointed by the City Council:
H. Community at-large - three members
3. It shall be the duty of the Crime Prevention Action
Committee to participate with the local law enforcement agency in
learning crime prevention content and technique; and to apply
that knowledge to design, and promote community implementation
of, local crime prevention action plans including, but not
limited to, revitalizing and expanding Neighborhood Watch
programs.
