1961-10 Declaring Persons Elected at the General Election Held in the District on Tuesday, February 7, 1961 -2- RESOLUTION R6l-l0 Resolution Declaring Persons Elected at the General Election Held in the District on Tuesdav. Februarv 7. 1961. WHEREAS pursuant to the provision of Division 11, Part ~, Chapter 2 of the Water Code of the State of California there was held in the San Dieguito Irrigation District on Tuesday, February 7, 1961, a General Election for the purpose of electing directors for Divisions 1, 2, and 3 of said district and an Assessor-Collector-Treasurer for all of said district whose terms will expire in March next hereafter; and an advisory fluoridation proposition; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of said Division 11, Part ~, Chapter 2 of said Water Code of the State of California, the Board of Directors of said district has heretofore designated the polling places in each of the precincts of said district in which said election was to be held; appointed the election officials to conduct the election in each of said voting places; and directed that the polls be opened from 1:00 to 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the day of said election. and WHEREAS, said Board of Directors find and declare: FIRST, that the Secretary of said Board, not less than 25 nor more than ~O days before the general election caused notice to be published in a newspaper of general circulation in said district, to-wit: The Encinitas Coast Dispatch, setting forth the time and place of holding said election and the names of election officers appointe4 for the pre- cincts in which said election was to be held, and also posted a general notice of same in the office of said District; SECOND, that said election was held in the precincts in which election was to be held in said district in the places designated as the polling places by said Board of Directors and as specified in said notice of election; and that the polls were open between the hours of 1:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. at said polling places as directed by the Board; THIRD, that prior to the opening of the polls at said polling places, the said election officials took and sub- scribed to the oaths required by law to faithfully perform the duties imposed upon them by law; FOURTH, that the ballots used in said election were printed and contained thereon as candidates, only the names of persons specified in the nomination petitions filed with the Secretary of the Board of Directors within the time' specified by law; plus the advisory fluoridation proposition; FIFTH, that as soon as all of the votes were counteq, a certificate was drawn and made upon the papers containing the poll list and tallies stating the number of votes cast and the number of votes received by each candidate; SIXTH, that the said certificate waS Signed by the inspector, judge and clerk constituting the Board of Election in said precincts; SEVENTH, that said certificate and the poll list and tally paters fa each precinct were placed in envelopes which were sealed by the inspectors in the present of the judges and clerks in each election precinct, endorsed "Election Returns of the San Dieguito Irrigation District~ and were directed to the Secretary of the Board of Directors and delivered by the inspectors of each precincts to the said Secretary; said documents currently on file with the said Secretary; and ~, --' -/ -3- WHEREAS, from its Canvass of said election returns, the said Board of Directors finds the results as follows, to-wit : --- FIRST, that the total number of votes cast in said District was 1829, including 22 absentee ballots; SECOND, that the votes were cast as follows: -- PRECINCT NUMBER 1 2 ~ 4 ABSENTEE , BALLOTS TOTAl Director: Myron A. Weston T. J. Petzold Chas. W. Hales Maurice E. Bauman Director, Division No. 1 Director, Division No. 2 Director, Division No. 3 Assessor-Collector-Treasurer. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary be, and she hereby is, directed immediately to make out and deliver to said elected officers a certificate of election, Signed by her and authenticated with the official seal of said Board.
