RESOLUTION NO. R84-5
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
SAN DIEGUITO WATER DISTRICT APPROVING
CHANGE IN CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION
OF 36-INCH TRANSMISSION PIPELINE PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R82-29, the District
entered into a contract with Ham Bros. Construction, Inc. for the
construction of the 36-inch transmission pipeline; and
WHEREAS, by reason of changes requested by the District and
unforeseen matters in conjunction with the construction of the
project, certain additional work was necessary for its comple-
ticn, the reasonable value of which was $95,874.11;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND
ORDERED by the Board of Directors of San Dieguito Water District
as follows:
1. That the contract with Ham Bros. Construction be and it
is amended by adding thereto the sum of $95,874.11 for the work
described on the schedule attached hereto.
..2. That payment of said sum, in accordance with the terms
of the contract, be and it is authorized.
3. That this amendment includes the change approved by
Resolution No. R83-51, and shall not be an addition thereto.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board of
Directors of San Dieguito Water District held on the 27th day of
February, 1984, by the fOllowing vote, to wit:

The follcwing list indicates where all of the charges were involved.

$29,111.83 covers the cost of problems that were involved in the field,
as follcws:
Pouring concrete encasenent on sewer lateral at
new Bank on Encinitas Boulevard.
'Three electric conduits at 6~ ft. depth not on
record or plans. Redug trench and had to relay pipe.
Delay because of 18" stann drain not shCMn on plans.
Oversight on Engineers & Arneron standby for welder as
each joint had to be welded. Distance involved
approx. 100 ft. Could not open street until
welding was done. 'IWo days were involved.
(Reirrbursement by Ameron Pipe Co. $2,926.80)
Had to switch pipe Olivenhain line 45 ft. off station.
Had to go fran 9 ft. to 11 ft. in depth.
Loss of ti.m2 on tie-in at Balour Reservoir. District
16" valve leaking at El Camino Real & Encinitas Blvd.
Trench had to be dug dee:per to clear SfWJ 30" nain.
Realigrnnent of pipe because of SIG&E electric vault.
Standby charged by concrete cutting finn.
Digging for 16" line across Encinitas Blvd. Hand dug
under six utili ties not shc:Mn on plans.
High voltage lines not indicated on plans. Had to
dig trench 2 feet deeper to clear.
6" A.C. line rrarked on plans and field location.
Job held up until pro:per equipuent was brought in to
protection line. Caused conflict in alignrrent and
installation.
Paving of center island .in front of new bank.
8" Water line across Escondida Creek.
Electrical pad and block wall to protect electrical
panel at meter vault, San Dieguito Lake.
(Panel too large for vault).
Thrust blocks for connections #2 and #7.
Not called for on plans.
Redigging of Vault #7. Was dug out in May of 1983.
Because of weather tie-in to 54" cancelled.
6 Additional aluminum grates. Vaults 1 through 6 due
to rrodular construction of vaults.

the over-nm was between .8% and .9% of the contract
price.
Adding the field problems of $29,111.83, and including
the extras by the district and as required by
specifications, the percentage increase of the original
contract price was between 2.8% and 2.9%.
