1986-54 Urging Early Construction of Pamo Dam Project
RESOLUTION NO. Ra6-54
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF SAN
DIEGUITO WATER DISTRICT URGING EARLY
CONSTRUCTION OF PAMO DAM PROJECT
WHEREAS, San Dieguito Water District is responsible
for the delivery of water to over 28,000 people in the
City of Encinitas; and
WHEREAS, the District relies upon the San Diego County
Water Authority for delivery of over 50% of its water supply;
and
WHEREAS, the San Diego County Water Authority has
proposed, and the voters have approved, the construction
of Pamo Dam for the purpose of guaranteeing water availability
in the event of a disruption of the pipelines serving San
Diego County; and
WHEREAS, a draft environmental impact statement has
been prepared by the Corps of Engineers for the project,
which has been reviewed and considered by the District;
and
WHEREAS, the environmental impact statement fully
considers and evaluates the benefits of, alternatives to
and environmental effects of the proposed project; and
WHEREAS, it is clear that the project is vitally needed
and that the environmental consequences can be adequately
mitigated;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, DETERMINED
AND ORDERED by the Board of Directors of San Dieguito Water
District that it reaffirms its support for the earliest
possible construction of the Pamo Dam project and urges
the Corps of Engineers to issue all necessary permits as
soon as possible in order that the project can be completed
without further delay.

PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Board
of Directors of San Dieguito Water District held on the
13th day of November, 1986, with the following vote, to-wit:
