2001-003 Meeting times URGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 2001-03 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF ENCINITAS, CALIFORNIA AMENDING MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 2.20.040 CHANGING REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS TO THE SECOND AND FOURTH WEDNESDAYS OF EACH MONTH AND CHANGING THE TIME TO BEGIN AT 5:30 P.M. WHEREAS, the Governor of the State of California has declared an energy shortage crisis; and WHEREAS, the Governor has requested that all cities in the state take immediate measures to conserve energy because of said crisis; and WHEREAS, in order to take immediate measures to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Encinitas citizens, as well as residents across the state by avoiding black-outs and rolling black-outs, the City of Encinitas does hereby take the emergency measures as identified in this Ordinance. The City Council of the City of Encinitas, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION ONE: That Sections 2.20.040A is amended to read as follows: ~.20.040 Regular Meetin~a_ A. Regular meetings of the City Council shall be held on the second, and fourth Wednesdays of each month. Regular meetings shall commence at 5:30 p.m. Regular meetings shall be conducted in the City Council Chambers at 505 South Vulcan Avenue. If a regular meeting falls on a holiday, the regular meeting shall be held on the next business day. (Gov. Code Section 36808) PASSED AND ADOPTED this 24th day of January, 2001 by the following vote to wit: AYES: Bond, Guerin, Holz, Houlihan, Stocks. NAYS: None. ABSTAIN: None. ABSENT: None.
